Now this is just too funny. It’s so funny that it is another sad moment with our government. Ok – so explain to me how the Federal government is going to make the healthcare industry any more efficient, when they can’t even run something as simple as EnergyStar?
Now remember, the EnergyStar program has been around for quite some time. It was started in 1992 as a wing of the EPA and the US Department of Energy with a stated purpose of “helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.”.
Apparently, a gas powered alarm clock will help. That’s right - a gasoline powered alarm clock was submitted by the GAO (Government Accountability Office) and approved as EnergyStar Compliant. Not only that – there were a few other products submitted and approved as well, such as the “Feather Duster Fly Strip Air Freshener”.
What does that have to do with health care? Simple. Anyone with a little common sense knows that you have NEVER heard the phrase “…with the speed and efficiency of a government office.”
