Facebook – the political debates rage

As of this writing, Facebook has about 400 million users with about 120 million in the US alone. In the US there are about 300 million people so nearly That’s a lot of people, and there is no way everyone can agree.

Naturally it has become a hotbed of political debate, and I can’t stand to stay out sometimes. There are an untold number of political debates raging on right now. That is a good thing – a very good thing.

Recently, I got into a debate with an admitted liberal whom I’m actually friends with – at least up to this point. Turns out he is also a liberal who doesn’t like to hear another side – not when the other side is stating the facts.

Something else that is interesting to note – he admits that there are “leeches” to the system. Imagine that! There is a liberal who admits that people will leech from the system when presented with a chance!

Kenneth also mentioned a friend of his who started a small business but couldn’t afford the health care premiums. As a small business person, I definitely have sympathy for that; however, it seems Kenneth didn’t want to hear the truth to that as well. His friend should plan better financially or not have insurance.

About the only shining light from the whole conversation thread is that Kenneth is prone to waver in his beliefs. He admits to “leeches” and that “taxpayers help foot the bill” – but unfortunately he doesn’t have any problem with his income being spent that way.

I do. It is in my core beliefs.

In the end, I was accused of being “insane” because I am very firm in my beliefs and “there is no middle ground” with me. Ok – could Kenneth state anything less obvious? Prove me wrong then.
